Kenya school calendar 2026

This page is the Kenya 2026 school calendar: three terms, two half-terms, April and August holidays, KPSEA, KCSE, and the long December break that starts on the same date as KPSEA. Use it to see where a public holiday sits against class time before you book leave or a trip.

Kenya’s Ministry of Education issues an academic circular for basic education. Africa Calendar copies those dates so a parent or teacher can look at terms and national holidays in one place. The interactive studio still lets you print a wall calendar; the list below is the same circular this page has always shown.

Term 1 opens in early January and runs into early April, with a short February–March half-term inside it. The April holiday covers Easter week in 2026, then Term 2 runs from late April through the end of July, including a June half-term. The August holiday sits between Term 2 and Term 3. Term 3 ends in late October, after which KPSEA and KCSE occupy the same stretch of the year as the December holiday for non-candidates.

I am Collins Odeny. Africa Calendar is a personal project, not the Ministry of Education, a school, or a payroll office. Confirm the official circular and your school’s notice board before you treat a date as final for exams, boarding, or travel. If a range looks wrong, email me from the contact page and I will check it against the circular.

Summary for basic education in 2026: 173 teaching weekdays and 85 break weekdays on this circular, after half-term is taken out of the term count.

Public holidays and print

Read every Kenya 2026 public holiday on the Kenya 2026 holiday list, then open the Kenya 2026 studio to print a year grid. The leave planner and working-days calculator use the same holiday list. Ads never print on the calendar canvas.
